Mills & Boon Western is an imprint of Harlequin in Australia. Each of my first three books has been paired with another Harlequin western for inclusion in this imprint. There’s a lot of cultural kinship between Texas and Australia, so this seems like a natural fit. It’s exciting to have readers as far away as the southern hemisphere.
My second and third books have both been paired with titles by Melinda Curtis, a fantastic and prolific writer who lives in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. I’ve never met Melinda in person, but she’s been a great help and encouragement to me. My first book came out in 2020, which meant that a lot of the usual in-person author events–release parties, book signings, and the Harlequin party at the RWA conference–didn’t happen for me. Melinda took it upon herself to welcome me and two other debut Harlequin Heartwarming authors, Tanya Agler and Elizabeth Mowers, by hosting a video on her YouTube channel. I’ve always appreciated the kindness she showed us at that time, especially as I know she must be a very busy person, and I’m honored to be sharing book space with her. Check out our chat.
